i love movies...so pretty much anything and everything (except for political thrillers and movies with titles like "the sisterhood of the traveling pants").
probably cause i'm a dude.
Hi Bryan! Hope you're having a nice weekend! This is so
funny that I just had to share. ---- Remember Thursday,
when I told you that, for our mystery dinner theatre, we
wouldn't be having rehearsals, since a "mystery kit" had
been ordered from a company, and the actors had but to
appear the night of the show and receive an envelope
containing all their character information? Then, the show was
supposed to be mostly improvisational, with the audience
interviewing the suspects.
Well, later Thursday evening, I received a call from the
lady who had ordered the packet, and she said that
there was a problem with it, that the kit was created
for only the participating actors to interview each other
and solve the crime, not audience members, and so
we've definitely hit a snag, because the whole idea was
to have audience participants, so guess who has been
asked to write a script, and have it ready for rehearsals,
so we can be prepared for a show by Oct.11th? Yikes!
I'm up for the challenge, but, while I enjoy watching,
solving, and acting in mysteries, the mystery genre is
not really my writing forte. The author who created
this particular mystery, has given us permission to revise
it, but it's kind of like working a jigsaw puzzle. I can't
write a different mystery, because the church has already
run a commercial for it.
A friend of mine who writes murder mysteries,
Mark Ogle (He's on TCN, too.), suggested having
a play within a play. Anyway, I didn't mean to
write you a novel here. If I bring the materials to
class, would we have time (maybe 10 minutes)
to brainstorm? Is that okay with you? I don't
want to do anything to take time away from whatever
you may have planned. I'm just thinking that 7-8
creative minds could come up with a workable
solution to this puzzle. This whole situation is a
mystery in of itself! Ha!
Hi Bryan! My plan was to be early to class for a change,
but I got a call from a lady from my church, and we're
supposed to meet at 4:00 for our committee to plan a
mystery dinner theatre. I'll try to get there as soon as
I can afterwards. Thanks! : )
