I've been in 5 productions of Romeo and Juliet. Twice as Romeo, twice as Mercutio and then I played Friar Lawrence for ATC five years ago at Philbrook. Courtneay Sanders is in her third year as Director of Theatre at Oral Roberts University. In May of 2002, she graduated from ORU with her Bachelors of Science degree in Drama, Television, and Film Performance. She then went on to receive her M.F.A. in Acting from The University of Arkansas. She has directed productions of "The Comedy of Errors", "Three Days of Rain", "The Mousetrap", and most recently, "Moonlight and Magnolias" at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center. Regional acting credits include: "Hope" in An Infinite Ache, “Theresa Bedell” in Boy Gets Girl, “Olivia” in Twelfth Night, “Maxine” in The Night of the Iguana, “Lady Capulet” in Romeo and Juliet, “Casey” in Anton in Show Business, “Gwendolyn Fairfax” in The Importance of Being Ernest, and others. Throughout her acting career, Courtneay has worked with Shakespeare and Co, Dallas Shakespeare, and TheatreSquared, to name a few. She is a member of Christians in Theatre Arts and has taught acting intensives in Shakespeare and the Meisner Technique, for their national conferences in Los Angeles and Chicago. Courtneay is a founding member of The Playhouse Theatre, a new theatre company debuting in Tulsa in the spring of 2009. While at ORU, Courtneay teaches acting techniques in Meisner, Shakespeare, Chekhov, Hagen, Brecht, Pinter, and Viewpoints.
