Styx Concert 4/9/09 in Tulsa

Hi everyone,

Take a look at some of the best of the best pictures from the Styx Concert that was here in April 2009. I had a front row center seat (I didn't sit though - spent all of the concert standing at the center of the stage getting these great shots). The concert was excellent and Tommy Shaw came over to me as the band was playing "Renegade" (their encore song) and I got to sing to Tommy Shaw for an entire verse! Loved it.

Look for some pics that I'll post shortly from the Christopher C… Continue

This is the Moment - Todd Huston Video Created by Camie Hayes

Hey everyone,

When you get a free moment in your day, please go to youtube and check out a video I created for Todd Huston, current world record holder for climbing the highest points in the 50 U.S. States. He is a leg-amputee and the only amputee to hold a able bodied world record. His story is truly inspiring. He is a Tulsa native and recently moved back here where he is a motivational/inspirational speaker. Todd is also a big Moody Blues fan (as am I) and since the Moody Blues are coming to… Continue

I've been so busy at work that I've hardly done or seen anything. I was also busy getting props together on a small indie movie this spring so...I am getting ready to do "Brainstorms" with Michael Wright that will run on 12/1. Glad to know everything is okay. So the show is coming up in a couple of weeks? I might be able to catch a Saturday night show during your run. I'll let you know.

It took 3 days to drive back, and I was doing a show in KC that weekend so I HAD to get back, since they decided not to cancel. It was Our Town, so it was a play for folks to go see that weekend.

I'll be looking for those photos! :)

I'll have to show you my very cool In-N-Out jacket sometime, after the weather gets cooler and I start wearing it a lot. I have a great story, too, about stopping in Barstow on 9/11 for an In-N-Out; I got stranded in LA that day and had to drive back to KC since all the flights were grounded!

Ah, the Bay Area...I was in Carmel on vacation this summer!

I do hear that Linda Layman is the agent of choice.

Are you trick-or-treating tonight? :)

Camie,

I imagine a lot of VO work for this market gets done elsewhere, like Dallas. My agent in Kansas City told me she represents a couple of local actors down here, actually. Are you represented locally? I'm still an AFTRA member but I'm not sure there's much point in continuing that, at least as long as I'm here in Tulsa. I'm the new dean of McFarlin Library at TU, so I'll probably be around for about six years, and then hope to retire early so I can be a full-time actor in Dallas, where my granddaughters live. Stop by sometime when you're on campus again!
Where are you from in Southern Cal? I could use an In-N-Out burger right now. :)

Michael is doing "Brainstorms: New Works by Young Artists" - it is a play writing contest sponsored by the Tulsa Public Library for young writers (very young - early teens to late teens) and he directed it for the first time last year and I stage managed for him then. We rehearsed in Kendall Hall alot and will probably do that again in the next couple of weeks. I did a little college radio back in So. Cal. and was always told I have a good voice, but the VO market is very limited around here and I'm primarily known as a SM so that's where most of my work comes from. Full time gig is a legal assistant at GableGotwals to pay the bills. Break a leg with "The Dresser." I volunteered at TT when I first moved to Tulsa.
