Personality of Cult History

Personality of Cult held their first exhibition at the Circle Cinema from February 7 though March 31, 2008. Twenty artists, most of them strangers before this project came along, presented art works based and inspired by their favorite cult classic films. these works were as varied in styles and media as the choices of film subjects themselves, ranging from Rocky Horror Picture Show in Acrylic, Nightmare Before Christmas in Photography, Fight Club in Ceramics and many, many more.

The aim was for the artists to pay homage to their favorite films, drawing particularly on their favorite scenes, characters and emotional themes. And the audience's response was exceptional The opening gala was the largest the Circle Cinema Gallery had seen to date, sparking immediate plans for a follow-up.

On Friday, January 30, 2009, Personality of Cult: Episode Deux will open at the Circle Cinema. This time around, the theme will be cult classic sequels. As with any sequel, the goal is to be bigger and better than the original, complete with jury awards, silent auction, and a midnight screening of Kevin Smith's Clerks, chosen by Personality of Cult fans in a poll this summer.
